Budding chefs in grades 6–12 at K12-powered schools spiced things up in the K12 National Cook-Off, whipping up their best dishes for a shot at becoming one of five finalists who’ll advance to an exciting in-person showdown where they will compete for a $1,000 grand prize!

COMPETITION PRIZES & CORRESPONDING APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES
(“ARV”): The top five (5) finalists will receive a paid trip—including payment for commercial coach air travel (up to $500 per person) and hotel room for the student and (1) chaperone (parent, legal guardian, or person provided written authority in a form satisfactory to Stride and signed by parents or legal guardians, to act in the place of the parents or legal guardians; individual must be at least age 21)—to Arlington, Virginia, to compete in person in a live cook-off before a panel of non-Stride personnel (ARV: for one
(1) finalist and one (1) chaperone, up to $1,320). Note: Meal and transportation costs between the airport and hotel will be the Entrant’s responsibility. Any additional costs will be the responsibility of the Entrant.
· The K12 National Cook-Off Champion will receive $1,000
· The K12 Cook-Off People’s Choice Winner will receive $250
Awards will be issued in U.S. dollars [cash, check, or wire]. [Wire transfers will only be made to banks located in the United States.] The entrant and their parents/guardians are responsible for all tax consequences.
Total ARV: $7,850
Awards will not be replaced if lost, stolen, or misused. IRS form 1099 may be issued and filed for winners, who are required to provide all information necessary for the form 1099 prior to receiving the award.
